Review: Disney Junior Live on Tour! Pirates & Princess Adventure

At Westchester County Center in White Plains

April 16, 2014

This week we were invited to check out Disney Junior Live On Tour! Pirate & Princess Adventure, produced by Feld Entertainment, during opening night at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.  We were very excited to go, with a 2, 2.5, and 5 year old.  I was nervous with the “late” showing at 7pm, almost bed time, but it worked out.

The show started with a 10 minute introduction by Doc McStuffins.  My daughter loves Doc and jumped up and started dancing as soon as she saw her.

After Doc Mc Stuffins finished, out marched none other than Mickey and Minnie Mouse.  The kids in the audience went crazy.  After all, what is Disney without Mickey and Minnie?

The first half of the show, about a half hour, was all about princesses.  Sofia the First and her royal friends and family performed catchy songs that the kids in the crowd could dance and sing along to.  We even got a surprise visit from Princess Cinderella, with the help of Sofia’s magical Amulet.  The kids were really impressed when purple bubbles started falling from the ceiling.

During intermission, a few pirates came out front, and if you are patient enough you could even get a picture with them.

The second half of the show was very interactive and exciting.  Kids danced up front the whole time.  Jake and his Neverland Pirates sang, danced and flew all over the stage.  There was comedy, sword fights, a crocodile, and surprise visit from Peter Pan. The show ended with a *bang* as the volcano erupted gold doubloons all over.  So bring your treasure chests to collect the gold confetti.

We sat close to the floor on the side; our seats were great, but I would imagine the further off to the side, the more obstructed your view may get.  If you want to enjoy the streamers and bubbles showering on you, be sure to get up front.  However, your kids can run up front to play from any of the sections.

Concession stands and restrooms are easily accessible, and many souvenirs and picture opportunities are available.
