EVENT: Decorated Historic Homes

What could be more beautiful than a period room impeccably decorated for the holidays? Our areas historic mansions will be shining throughout the holiday season. Get into the holiday spirit and learn a little Hudson Valley history as well.

This year, in conjunction with their special exhibit “World War I: The Home Front”, each room  in the The Italianate mansion, Locust Grove, will glitter with trees and elegant garlands.

Florists and designers transform the Wilderstein Mansion (home of FDR's cousin, Daisy) into a magical holiday spectacular. 

 Vanderbilt Mansion  will be decked out in all the opulence of the Gilded Age.

Visit Clermont State Historic Site for a Tableaux Vivant of Christmas traditions through the ages. Glittering decorations, wassail and traditional holiday goodies served in the historic kitchen.

 

It is "A Gilded Age Christmas" at Mills Mansion, the family home of Ogden and Ruth Livingston Mills. The home has been lavishly decorated for the holiday season with turn-of-the century decorations, numerous Christmas trees, floral arrangements and spectacular dining room decorations. 

FDR's Home, Springwood, will be decorated for the traditional Roosevelt Christmas. 

Eleanor Roosevelt's favorite holiday is recreated at, Val-Kill, the cozy cottage she loved.

Tour the Mount Gulian homestead which will be aglow in candlelight, decorated with fresh greens, ribbons and bows, and sparkle.
